John G. Brisson

Professor, Mechanical Engineering

Professor John G. Brisson is a renowned expert in cryogenics and applied physics, currently serving as the Head of Magnets and Cryogenics at MIT's Plasma Science and Fusion Center, and MIT's J-WEL Advisory Committee Chair of Higher Education. With a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard University, he has held various prestigious positions at MIT, including Associate Department Head of Education and Director of the Cryogenics Engineering Lab. Prof. Brisson is the recipient of numerous teaching and research awards, such as the Everett More Baker Memorial Award and the Den Hartog Teaching Award. He has published extensively in his field and holds multiple patents in cryogenics and hydrogen related technologies.
